THERE are two Alfas in the online catalogue for the forthcoming Historics at Brooklands auction set for Saturday November 28.
One is a K-reg 1972 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTAm Evocation, with 99,990 miles on the clock and being offered with no reserve.
The auction notes state: “Once in a while, a special motorcar turns up that not only reveals many surprises about it but also says something regarding its owner and builder. This Alfa Romeo GTAm Evocation started life as a standard 2000 GTV and was discovered in a somewhat poor state. A decision was made to build the car in the style and colour of the Toine Hezemans 1970 European Touring Car Championship winning car. A nut and bolt restoration was carried out between 2013 and 2015.”
Also sure to attract attention is a 1968 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce, with 106,366 miles under its belt and carrying a pre-sale estimate of £9,000 – £13,000.
The auction description states: “Records show that this very early and rare matching-numbers Boat-Tailed 1750cc Duetto Spider manufactured in right-hand-drive format and first registered in the UK on the 1st May, 1968. The history file has ownership details and photographs from the period 1978 to 1989 together with detailed ownership information, service history and parts receipts from March 2005. The present owner has had the car from July 2009, during which time it has covered just 678 miles.”
