THERE were scores of Alfa Romeos among the hundreds of beautiful Italian cars on show at the annual Auto Italia Day at Brooklands on Saturday.
It was my first visit to the event and even the occasional heavy shower did nothing to spoil my enjoyment of the occasion.
There were thousands of visitors from far and wide and a wonderful, friendly atmosphere pervaded.
The cars were simply dazzling: the Alfas were, of course, magnificent but the display also featured a glittering array of Ferraris, Maseratis, Lamborghinis, Lancias and Fiats.
Other less well-known names included De tomaso, Innocenti, Bizzarrini and Iso Rivolta.
Here are just a few of the Alfas that lit up Brooklands.
