THE Alfa Romeo ‘Show and Shine’ event, scheduled for July 4 but postponed because of the adverse weather, has been rearranged for Wednesday August 15.
The concours gathering is run by the Wessex branch of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club and is sponsored this year by Red Motori, the Italian car specialist garage based at Spetisbury, near Blandford.
It will be held at the Langton Arms, Tarrant Monkton, near Blandford, starting at 7.30pm. Food will be available.
There will be five classes for Alfa Romeo: cars built in the 1950s and 1960s; in the 1970s; in the 1980s; in the 1990s to the present day; and a new category for the best presented car. Last year’s event attracted 26 cars and organisers are hoping to beat that this year.
Nigel Varney, secretary of the St Leonards-based Wessex branch of the AROC, said: “This is intended to be a fun event open to all Alfa Romeo cars. The idea is to get everyone to display their cars and enjoy a great evening. The cars will be judged and trophies will be awarded to the best car in each category.”
Andy Bowley and Dave Summers, of Red Motori, are Italian car enthusiasts and have been Alfa Romeo and Fiat specialist for more than 10 years.
